
A very large, round or oval fruit of an annual flowering vine, with a thick, hard, smooth rind, green with yellow stripes in colour, enclosing a juicy, crisp, pink/red and slightly sweet flesh with embedded black seeds. Cut open and eaten raw as is or in a fruit salad.
