
A round, oily fish "Salmo trutta" in the salmon family, found in both fresh and salt water in a variety of forms and varying from a few hundred grams to 35 kg in weight. Its flesh is cream to pink in colour, depending on diet, and it may be cooked in any way, although generally shallow-fried or grilled in Europe.
