Fig

The fruit of the Ficus carica tree, which grows in warm and semi-tropical regions. The fruit, which varies from round to pear-shaped, has a tender amber, green or purple skin, covering a red-purple, sticky, sweet, seed-filled pulp. They may be eaten raw, are easily skinned, and are commonly dried.
