A type of hot chili pepper, alos called capsicum, small, but long and thin and deep red in colour. The fruit are dried and ground, then pulped, baked into a cake which is then ground and sifted to to produce the spice known as Cayenne pepper. This is used to add flavour to dishes or for its various medicinal properties.
