
The fruit or berry of the Blueberry shrub, genus Vaccinium, closely related to the cranberry and bilberry, and native to North America. Each spherical berry is between 5 and 16 milimetres in diametre, dark blue in colour when ripe, with a flared crown at one end. Its flesh is white or light green in colour, and sweet.
